The process to fill the vacant post of the Vice Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo state, has entered a crucial stage as the selection board of the Governing Council, headed by Professor Ayodeji Omole, has shortlisted four applicants for the final round of the process.
According to findings by insightonline.com, 11 or 12 professors applied for the job including Prof Kasali Olatunde Rom Kalilu, Prof Gbenga Adewale, Prof Biodun Oladipo, Prof Tunde Oni, Prof Tunde Olabiyisi and Prof Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi.
The four shortlisted candidates, investigations revealed, are Prof Kalilu (Acting Vice Chancellor and former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution), Prof Adewale (currently the Provost of the newly founded College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Energy Resources, LAUTECH, Iseyin campus), Prof Biodun Oladipo (currently Dean of Pure and Applied Sciences) and Prof Tunde Oni (a former Dean and ex-Director of ICT in the institution but presently on sabbatical).
However, insightonline.com gathered a short while ago that one of the candidates might have been replaced.
Meanwhile, it is learnt the selection board will likely arrive at three candidates for transmission probably today, to the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the final selection or ratification if only one contestant is picked.
